At its May meeting, the DVRPC Board approved $600,000 in funding toward seven projects across DVRPC’s four New Jersey counties through the Transportation and Community Development Initiative (TCDI) grant program. TCDI is a grant opportunity that funds local planning initiatives that advance the goals of the region’s Long-Range Plan, Connections 2050, and enhance the multimodal transportation network. Now in its 23rd year, the TCDI program has invested over $23 million in the region since it began in 2002.
Projects awarded seek to encourage transit-oriented development, expand the region’s trail network, and enhance mobility, among other objectives. The geographic scope of these projects range from the area around a transit center or within a historic downtown to an area that captures multiple municipalities along a highway corridor or trail network, with one even crossing counties borders. View the complete list of selected projects on the TCDI webpage. The next Pennsylvania TCDI program will be offered in early 2026.
